Justice for Heiniu
This group was created by Bailey in loving memory of Heiniu and in pursuit of justice for a beloved family member whose life ended far too soon.
Heiniu was a beautiful 3-year-old Rottweiler, deeply loved by his family and everyone who knew him. His name, meaning "Black Cow" in Mandarin, reflected the affection and bond he shared with those who cherished him.
On May 4, 2026, Aurora Animal Services responded to what should have been a routine call involving two friendly dogs that had already been safely contained by members of the public. What should have ended with Heiniu being safely returned home instead ended in tragedy.
For more than two hours, Heiniu endured immense fear, distress, and suffering while in the care of those entrusted to protect and assist animals. Witnesses watched in disbelief as events unfolded, pleading for intervention and begging for the situation to be handled differently.
Despite those pleas, Heiniu suffered fatal injuries and died just moments before his family arrived, expecting to reunite with their happy, healthy dog.
No family should ever experience such heartbreak.
No animal should ever endure such suffering.
This tragedy has left a family grieving, a community devastated, and countless questions unanswered.
This group exists to:
- Honour Heiniu's life and memory
- Raise awareness about what happened
- Advocate for accountability and meaningful change
- upport transparency and truth
- Ensure that no other family experiences a similar tragedy
The events of that day have raised serious concerns regarding training, procedures, decision-making, oversight, and compassion within the agencies involved. Community members are left questioning who they can trust to protect both their animals and their families.
We are not driven by anger alone.
We are driven by love for Heiniu.
We are driven by the belief that every life matters.
We are driven by the conviction that truth, accountability, and transparency are essential.
We demand answers.
We demand an independent investigation.
We demand a clear timeline of events.
We demand transparency.
We demand accountability.
We demand the truth.
And above all, we demand Justice for Heiniu.
